“11/06/11 SPICERISM: MY GIANTS. MY BLUEPRINTS for LIFE. Remembering the beautiful grace of my Grandma Mary Lou and hearing her soft footsteps..oh the biscuits, molasses & greens in the kitchen. Remembering my Godmother Lela’s elegance and love for exquisite jewelry and big hats..smelling her love from the kitchen and that coconut cake. Potato salad like nobody’s business. Remembering my Aunt Pauline’s heart of giving and joy…hearing the pots dance with fried chicken in the kitchen. She would give you her very last. Remembering the pride in my Mother’s eyes last week; the FIRST LADY of my life…she STILL walks with grace, wears exquisite jewelry and big hats and has a heart for giving. She still burns in the kitchen; that macaroni and stuffing…oh my! She brings and gives me great joy. MY MUSES: I’ll never stop striving to be the woman that they modeled across my soul.
